Two people trapped in a coal mine roof accident have been pronounced dead, Xinhua News Agency reported, citing the mining company in North China's Hebei province.
The incident occurred at 4:42 am on March 29 when a shaft roof collapsed at a mine owned by Jizhong Energy Resources Co., Ltd. in Xingtai city. The company issued a statement on its website confirming that two people were trapped as a result of the accident.
By 6:50 pm on March 30, both miners had been confirmed dead, and an investigation into the cause of the accident is currently underway.
